Google Rolls Out Click-to-Call Phone Numbers

Google has continued it’s push into the local advertising space by leveraging handheld internet devices to add phone numbers to AdWords ads that are clickable. As more people search for goods or services using their mobile phones advertisers will have the opportunity to pay to shorten the contact cycle with a one click call.
The ads will look the same except they will prominently feature the phone number in the URL line of the ad. Advertisers will be charged the same as the normal click rate for the ad but will have access to added features like call tracking and other analytic tools unique to this new product.
This feature will only be available on mobile handsets that support full blown browsers, but since that segment of the market is experiencing intense growth, it seems like a good bet for the search giant. Below is the Google video explaining the new feature.
