Loudoun Academy of the Arts Foundation Opens “Art Square”

The Loudoun Academy of the Arts Foundation will open its new arts center at 12 Cardinal Park Drive SE in Leesburg on March 1, 2010. The new center, called ArtSquare, will combine Gallery 222, King Street Studios and the Loudoun Academy of the Arts’ fine art classes into a significantly expanded location to better serve the area’s arts community. The new center boasts two fine art galleries, 14 artist studios and large classroom areas for adults and children.ArtSquare’s monthly gallery openings will continue to showcase original fine art by the area’s leading artists. On Friday, March 12, 2010, ArtSquare will host its first gallery exhibitions, featuring paintings by Waterford artist Katherine Riedel and guest artist Patricia Uchello from Alexandria, Virginia. The gallery opening will feature live music and refreshments will be served. The public is invited to attend the opening and tour the new facility. Both exhibits will continue through April 3, 2010.Resident artists at ArtSquare will begin working in their new studio spaces on March 1, 2010. These studios are open to visitors during normal business hours and gallery openings for viewing artwork and watching the creative process.In addition to the galleries and studios, an impressive list of classes in all fine art media will continue to be offered to adults and children.
