The Top of Virginia Regional Chamber is very pleased to announce a new partnership with Frederick County Parks and Recreation Department. This year the two organizations have joined forces to co-host the annual Kite Flying Festival which will take place on Saturday, April 3rd at Sherando Park in Stephens City from 11:00am-3:00pm. This will be the 9th year of the festival which is typically held the first Saturday in April. Admission is free and open to the public.
As a quality of life and community event, the Chamber and FCPRD encourage all families to bring their kids, dogs, friends, and kites. Members of the Richmond Air Force Kite Club will be on hand to discuss the science behind kite flying, the history of kites, and demonstrating some high-flying kite tricks. A limited number of kites will be given away to children, so we encourage participants to arrive early. Food, beverages, and kites will be available for purchase.
As the voice of business and a new partner for the event, the Chamber’s role is to help promote and grow the event. The Chamber believes this superior event contributes to the high quality of life that our region enjoys. As an event partner for the first year, the Chamber is promoting this to Chamber members as well as to the greater community of Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties. There are great advantages of community wide promotional opportunities associated with this event. If there are businesses in the community that would like to be a part of this great event and take advantage of promotional opportunities, we encourage them to call the Chamber today at 540.662.4118.
